A walk in the park
With valley temperatures soaring near the century mark it was time for a cool walk in the bay area. A hike through Tilden Park near Berkley was just the ticket.
Alice and I had hiked a part of the park last year but this time we chose one of the trails near the ridge top. We picked the Nimitz Way Trail, a winding broad trail that would take us from redwoods to eucalyptus groves.
Cool breezes guided us down along the trail as we found a multitude of colors from wild berries to butterflies along the trail. Weeds and wildflowers lined the trail as we hiked along the road.
It was just over five miles and a great hike with many photo opportunities and a great way to beat the heat.
