Time and tide

Daytime temperatures hovering in the mid-100s in Tracy made for an easy choice for our next hike. Alice and I packed our camera gear and headed to a foggy coastline to explore the beaches of Half Moon Bay.

Located about halfway between San Francisco and Santa Cruz the rugged cliffs and colorful flowers were going to be welcome a welcome hiking change form the sun-baked trails of Mount Diablo. Arriving early we were greeted with a thick layer of fog and chilly temperatures.

We didn't have to much of plan, just explore the beaches and enjoy the chilly air for as long as we could. Our hike would take us to a couple different beaches and bluffs and ended with a quick visit to the Montara Point Lighthouse.

From crashing waves and bubbles trapped in seaweed to the monochrome views of a dead pine tree the day hike was filled with wonderful sights. A great chance to getaway from the valley heat and joy the ocean views.
